# Logging a fault for your WAN Service

## Overview

Through the Hosted Network Partner Portal you can log a fault directly against the WAN Service. Logging the fault via this function runs you through some diagnostic questions which will speed up the troubleshooting and resolution process that HN Engineers go through for each fault.

You can follow the steps below to login and access the fault logging function in the Partner Portal.

**Step 1.** Login to [partners.hostednetwork.com.au](https://jarvis.mhn.net.au/orders#OR004413-PC001)

**Step 2.** Navigate to your WAN Service and click on the Service ID (NOTE: You may need to filter for "Connectivity")

**Step 3.** Once the service page loads click on the "Log Fault" button in the top right of the page

**Step 4.** Follow the wizard to answer some diagnostics questions and provide some basic information about the service

**Step 5.** Once you complete the wizard it will log a ticket with our Engineers, they will then review the information and confirm next steps

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.hostednetwork.com.au/support/services/connectivity/internet-services/troubleshooting-wan/logging-a-fault-for-your-wan-service.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
