nbn™ is extending fibre deeper into selected towns and suburbs across Australia. Select homes and businesses serviced by the nbn™ network via Fibre to the Node (FTTN) and Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) can now upgrade to Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) with an eligible plan.
When you submit a Service Qualification request, our system will automatically check to see if the location is eligible for a free FTTP upgrade through the nbn™ Fibre Connect initiative.
When a service is eligible for an upgrade, you will be presented with the option to select FTTP.
To Upgrade from FTTC you must select an eligible plan. The minimum speed tier for 250/25.
To upgrade from FTTN you must select an eligible plan in for either Residential or the Business.
The minimum speed tier for Residential is 100/20 whereas the only available speed tier for Business is 100/40.
Hosted Network checks services weekly to determine if any of them become eligible.
These services are visible from the portal by navigating to "Upgradeable TC4 Services" from the Services & Orders menu. All services that are eligible and are in progress to be upgrade will be listed.
To start the upgrade process, click on "Start Upgrade Process" on the selected service that you wish to upgrade.
Alternatively, from the you can also click through from a service that is eligible.
Once a service has become eligible you will receive an email notification with a list of all the services that can be upgraded.
The email will provide a list of new upgradeable services as well as a list of services that you were previously notified about.
