Modifying an existing Gold Image

During the day-to-day management of the Horizon DaaS environment you may need to update the Gold Image to complete OS updates or a larger software upgrade.
This can make updating all of the VDI much easier if used with FSLogix User Profile disks and Dynamic/Floating VDI as they can all be updated at once from the Gold Image.
There are two steps to this, unsealing the Gold Image and then resealing the Gold Image once you've completed the updates.
While the Gold Image is unsealed you cannot redeploy or create any VDI from it, you will need to wait until it has been successfully resealed.
Step 1. Login to your Horizon DaaS tenant's admin portal (the URL should end in /admin)
Step 2. Once logged in click on 'Inventory' and then 'Images' on the left side of the page
Step 3. Select the Gold Image you want to unseal from the table and then open the 'MORE' drop down and select 'Take Offline'
Step 4. In the window that appears click 'OK' to proceed with the unsealing of the Gold Image
Step 5. The Gold Image will now unseal and complete a partial sysprep, once it boots up you can access the console by selecting 'Launch Console' from the 'More' dropdown and modify the Image as needed
The Gold Image may restart a few times during the unsealing process
Once you've made all of the changes to the Guest OS and you're ready to reseal the Gold Image you can follow the below steps.
Make sure to leave the Gold Image powered on, it cannot be resealed if the Gold Image is powered off as Sysprep won't be able to complete
Step 1. Login to your Horizon DaaS tenant's admin portal (the URL should end in /admin)
Step 2. Once logged in click on 'Inventory' and then 'Images' on the left side of the page
Step 3. Select the Gold Image you want to reseal from the table and then open the 'MORE' drop down and select 'Publish'
Step 4. Fill in the required fields, and ensure that the Username and Password fields are correct, these are required for the resealing process and then click 'Publish'
Step 5. Now to to 'Monitoring' and then 'Activity' on the left side of the screen to watch the progress of the task.
If it fails to seal with an error regarding the VMware tools please raise a ticket with our support team to get the Gold Image's VMware tools updated.
