# Setting up voicemail on the DP720 (Cordless Handset)

To allow you to setup and check your voicemail on the DP720 handset follow the below steps:

1. On the handset press the top left button with 'Menu' above it
2. Navigate to the on screen button that looks like a tape, it should say 'Voice Mail' at the top when selected, then hit the top left button with 'Select' above it
3. In the next screen select 'Set Voice Mail' and press the select button again
4. You should see your extension on the next screen, press select again and you will be prompted for your 'VM Access Number' (this is the same number as your 3 digit extension). Enter the number then press the top left button with 'Save' above it.
5. Press the 'Hang Up' button to return to the home screen.
6. Go back into the menu then to the tape like in steps 1 and 2
7. Now press the top left button to select 'Play Message', select your extension and then it will ring the voicemail system and prompt for your voicemail password.

Once the VM Access Number is set you don't need to do it again in the future.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kb.hostednetwork.com.au/support/services/voice-over-ip-voip/technical-references/brand-specific-guides/grandstream-handsets/setting-up-voicemail-on-the-dp720-cordless-handset.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
