Creating and updating a time interval

This article covers how to create a new Time Interval (also applies to existing time intervals) within your VoIPNow Service Provider or Organisation account.

Steps here are separate sets of steps depending on the type of account you have with Hosted Network.

If you have a Wholesale Service Provider account please follow the " Steps for Service Provider"

If you have a SIP Trunk or VOIP Bundle please follow the "Steps for Organisations"

Follow the below steps in order to create a new time interval within the VoIPNow Portal as a Service Provider

Step 1. Navigate to sip01.mhn.net.au and login with your credentials

Step 2. Once logged into your account, navigate to the Organisation you wish to create the time interval for

Step 3. Under the heading "Telephony Settings" click on "Time Intervals"

Step 4. Click on "Add Time Interval" or click on an existing time interval if you wish to update an existing interval

Step 5. Set the "Time Interval Definitions" according to the below

a. Name - Give the Time Interval a name that will make it easy to identify / understand what it will be used for

b. Matching Algorithm - Set this to "Individual Days" so that the time intervals work correctly

c. Time Zone - Set the time zone where this time interval will be used for

Step 6. Specify the time intervals under the "Matching Intervals" section

The way the time intervals work is that you specify a start and stop time in 24 Hour time, so for example if the customers business hours are 9 - 5, Monday to Friday then the time intervals would look like the below:

Note: The example shows the public holidays within the state of NSW, please refer to this LINK for the public holidays per state Public holiday example

Step 7. Once you are happy with the time interval click on "Ok" at the bottom of the page to save the changes

Follow the below steps in order to create a new time interval within the VoIPNow Portal as an Organisation

Step 1. Navigate to sip01.mhn.net.au and login with your credentials

Step 2. Once logged into your account, navigate to "Unified Communications" in the menu on the left of the page

Step 3. Under the heading "Assets" click on "Time Intervals"

Step 4. Click on "Add Time Interval" or click on an existing time interval if you wish to update an existing interval

Step 5. Set the "Time Interval Definitions" according to the below

a. Name - Give the Time Interval a name that will make it easy to identify / understand what it will be used for

b. Matching Algorithm - Set this to "Individual Days" so that the time intervals work correctly

c. Time Zone - Set the time zone where this time interval will be used for

Step 6. Specify the time intervals under the "Matching Intervals" section

The way the time intervals work is that you specify a start and stop time in 24 Hour time, so for example if the customers business hours are 9 - 5, Monday to Friday then the time intervals would look like the below:

Step 7. Once you are happy with the time interval click on "Ok" at the bottom of the page to save the changes

Business Hours Example

This example shows how the time intervals would work, including how to account for weekend closures.

The below intervals apply to every day of every week of every month.

This example covers how a time interval would be setup to account for public holidays within the state of NSW.

Please ensure you confirm with the customer whether they will be operating on any of these days before applying them.
