How to expand a pre-existing Desktop Pool

Overview

This article covers how to expand a pre-existing desktop pool within your Horizon DaaS Administrator portal so that you can deploy an additional VDI for a User.
You will need to ensure you have free desktop quota in order to deploy a new VDI, if you don't have spare desktop quota you will need to submit an order for more via our Partner Portal.
The Administrator portal can be accessed by simply putting /admin after the URL, e.g. the admin portal for contoso.anywhereaccess.com.au is https://contoso.anywhereaccess.com.au/admin
All DaaS environments have their own unique login portal and the authentication for the portals is managed by the Partners Active-Directory server, Hosted Network do not have direct access to manage the authentication for the Horizon DaaS Administrator portal.

Steps

Step 1. Login to the Horizon DaaS Administrator portal
Step 2. Click on "Assign" in the menu along the left side of the web portal
Step 3. Tick the box to the left of the pool you wish to expand and then click the "Edit" button above the table
Step 4. In the window that appears, increase the number value in the "Capacity" field to however many VDI you need (it also shows you the available capacity, if it says 0 you do not have any spare capacity)
Step 5. Click "Save & Exit" at the bottom to begin the process of deploying a new VDI
Step 6. Click on "Monitor" and then "Activity" to monitor the progress of the desktop deployment, this page will also display any errors you may encounter during the deployment process
