# nbn - Accelerate Great (Speed Changes)

## Overview

Starting from **September 2025**, nbn will introduce a **speed uplift** across a range of its wholesale broadband bundles. The uplift will apply automatically to eligible services, at **no additional cost**, and aims to deliver higher upload speeds to support modern usage such as cloud services, video conferencing, and remote work.

## What is changing?

* Certain **Home and Business nbn speed tiers** will receive **increased upload speeds**.
* The uplift is **automatic** — no new order is required.
* **Pricing will not change**.
* The uplift is part of nbn’s broader program to improve capacity and customer experience across the network.

### Speed Increases on HFC and FTTP

nbn will permanently increase the wholesale speeds on three existing TC4 speed tiers over the HFC and FTTP networks: Home Fast becomes 500/50Mbps, Home Superfast becomes 750/50Mbps, and Home Ultrafast becomes 1000/100Mbps.

### Introduction of AVC TC4 250/100 on HFC

nbn will introduce a new 250/100Mbps speed tier on the HFC network and reduce the price of the FTTP 250/100Mbps speed tier.

### Next Generation FTTP NTD

nbn will transition to a standard new 1-port FTTP NTD, and a new 4-port device will be made available to customers with multiple services or using higher speed Business Plans (or for an additional charge). These new devices will replace the current end-of-supply device, enable multi-gigabit speed tiers and support the accelerated rollout of the FTTP network via the Fibre Connect program.

### Speed Changes to FTTP and HFC nbn Access Technology
