Installing Agents

This article covers the process for installing VSPC management agents followed by Veeam Agents to machines you would like to backup to a cloud repository

Management Agents

The first step in rolling out backup agents using VSPC is to install the VSPC Management Agent. This agent checks the machine into the VSPC portal and allows VSPC to perform other functions such as pushing the Veeam Backup Agent, and performing discovery functions to find other machines on the network for deployment.

Installing Management Agents

  • Login to the VSPC Portal (https://vac.mhn.net.au:1280) using your reseller account

  • Click the Discovery menu from the left side

  • Click the Download Management Agent button and select the desired OS

  • Select the company you wish the agent to belong to (for details on how to create companies, see Creating a new company)

  • Transfer the installer to the machine/s you wish to install the Management Agent on and install with defaults

  • Once installed, the agent should appear under Discovered Computers in VSPC after a few mins

For further information on installing Management Agents such as using automatic discovery methods, see Veeam's documentation on VSPC agents

Backup Agents

Once the Management Agent is installed on a machine, the Backup Agent can then be pushed to the machine via VSPC.

  • From the Discovered Computers view, select the managed agent/s you wish to deploy the Backup Agent to and click Install Backup Agent from the menu bar

  • Unless you have already configured discovery rules and specified credentials, you will need to supply an admin credential for the guest OS

  • You can also opt to create a backup policy here, or select No Policy and create this later (more information on backup policies is provided in the next page)

  • Click Apply and wait for the installation to complete

  • Once the installation is complete, the Backup Agent should appear under the Backup Agents tab
